The range of Canary Island cheeses is vast. Each of the seven islands has its particular variety. The most outstanding examples are the Majorero Cheeses from Fuerteventura.
The cheese made in Tenerife is usually prepared from goatâs milk, although sometimes it is mixed with sheep or cowâs milk. Usually a fresh cheese but we can also find the smoked varieties.
Manchego is identifiable by the zigzag pattern that is etched into its rind. In Spain, this goat’s milk cheese is washed in red wine during the aging process giving the rind a deep burgundy color, flowery aroma and buttery flavor. This is known as Drunken Goat.

Eden Equine Horse Rescue And Rehabilitation Tenerife
Whilst we are happy and encourage you to visit, meet the horses and see our project, please remember that we WORK. We don’t currently have volunteers, so everything that needs doing is done by me. On top of the everyday chores involved in caring for the animals, we have regular jobs to help finance this project.
I (Emm) work from home, so I am around almost all of the time (with the exception of essential errands).

Tenerife Horse Rescue Sustainable Animal Sanctuary
Open every day to give tours around the finca, meet the animals, volunteers and see the work in action. However please remember that our sanctuary is 100% run on volunteers so you must be flexible.
Our opening hours are 9:00 – 2:30 every day. Via appointment.
Unfortunately we need money, we canât pretend otherwise. We need money and we need a lot of money. On average we need more than 3500⏠a month just to survive, this is without growing the sanctuary. This is mainly for horse feed which is on average 110⏠a month per horse and we currently have over 20. You can do the maths. This is food alone and does not include vet bills and other animals.Â

K9 Tenerife is a Spanish Registered Charity (NÂș 3147) run by volunteers in the South of Tenerife. The purpose of the organisation is to protect and rehome, to the best of our ability, animals from cruelty, starvation and neglect, and to neuter and spay where possible to avoid over population.
The refuge receives no official government funding and we rely solely on you, the public, for donations and sponsorships.
Rescue dogs have so much to give in return for a loving and safe home. They make great family pets and faithful companions. However, we know many people would love to adopt a dog but, for many different reasons, it isnât practical to have a pet. The entertainment was absolutely brilliant
The staff friendly and the drink prices were reasonable
But, the one thing that made st Eugene’s was its compare Paul Price.
He is one of the best ad libers I have seen he made our evenings I think we went in to see him as much as the acts

The Pearly Grey resort has two onsite bar/restaurants. Our main Quo restaurant is located next to reception and is open all day seven days a week. The Edge Tapas & Chill-out Bar is situated on our lower sundeck and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, a great place to sit and relax with your favourite cocktail or a cold glass of beer.
When you choose to dine here you will find a full range of delicious meal options for breakfast and lunch, to suit any preference. As always at Quo we aim to add a personal touch and we are happy to accommodate any dietary requirement.

We were in Tenerife 3 nights, and EVERY night we ate here. I have never had such delicious fish in my entire life. The daily caught grouper was beyond delicious, as were the fresh mixed salad, calamari, salted potatoes, even the bread rolls and mojos were fantastic.
The staff was excellent, and always made the room for us, with a stunning view of the marina to watch the night fall and people pass by below. The gentleman who seemed to be the manager was always so kind to us and helpful in navigating our selections. They have an extensive local wine menu. This restaurant fed our bellies and souls. Highly recommended.
Visit our restaurant to enjoy a great lunch with a magnificent view to Los Abrigos Harbour, where we offer tasty dishes and fish from our land and sea. We are proud to have served our Canary product to the King himself.

This 2 bedroom traditional property has a large private garden, BBQ, hot tub, own entrance & parking near San Miguel de Abona.Â
If you want a real Canarian experience, yet with all the comforts of home, plus your own hot tub, come and stay in our pretty rural authentic Canarian house on one level built from traditional stone dating approximately from 1890 on the outskirts of the lovely old town of San Miguel de Abona in south Tenerife, 550 metres above sea level.
The house, which sleeps a maximum of 3 people, is comfortably furnished in a rustic style with character wooden beamed ceilings and cool whitewashed walls. Its spacious layout offers 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single), newly renovated shower room with rainfall shower head, lounge/dining room and a separate fully equipped kitchen with a quirky cave like feel leading from a central hallway. The house has all the home comforts you need.
Outside, our guests are able to enjoy their own enclosed private south facing garden which is on 3 levels. The top level has a table and 4 chairs with an umbrella plus a rustic style BBQ for alfresco dining and on the middle level are sun loungers and umbrella.
This area is a real sun trap! On the lower level we have created a relaxing chillout area with seating and a corner pergola incorporating a misting system, perfect for cooling off in hot weather. We’ve recently also put in a patio heater so you’ll be able to sit out on not quite so warm evenings too.
There is also a hot tub for our guestsâ sole use which we’re sure you’ll especially enjoy at night under the stars with a glass of something chilled by your side! The garden offers pleasant views to the sea, surrounding countryside and mountains. Guests have their own separate entrance so are able to come and go as they please plus free parking directly outside the property.
Ideally suited to couples and is perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday away from the tourist resorts as this is a quiet rural residential area. It’s a great get-away-from-it-all honeymoon destination too. Relax on your sun lounger during the day and when the sun goes down, enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine in the chill out area before savouring a romantic BBQ in the garden or take a stroll up to the village to sample traditional Canarian cuisine or tapas in the local restaurants, cafĂ©s and bars. End your day with a relaxing dip in the hot tub under the stars …
For homeworkers, there’s fast free WiFi plus plenty of space to work in. For those who need it, there can be 2 separate workspaces (one in the lounge/dining room plus one in the 2nd bedroom) with access to power sources and good natural lighting. Or set your laptop up in the garden, even better! Switch on the coffee machine and you’re good to go …
This isn’t a modern villa, but a charming old character property built in 1890. A heater can be provided in cold weather or a fan in summer for an extra fee. Although there are 2 bedrooms, we can only accommodate 3 people as there is only wardrobe space in the single room.
Guests have the complete house and garden for themselves. No communal spaces to share with other guests or the owners
High Season: July, August, Christmas, New Year
Price for the property per night is 75 euros based on 2 adults outside high season.

South African born singer/songwriter who now lives and performs in Canary Islands Spain.
He has been in the entertainment industry for over three decades. All of his current songs are a collaboration with a Swedish co- writer, a South African co-producer who lives in Prague in the Czech Republic and an Italian producer.

Customer Review: Fabulous pub / restaurant with a brilliant atmosphere. The place was buzzing both nights that we went. The friendly staff & great banter from the public created a very nice family atmosphere. The evenings Sonny comes on and does the karaoke, he creates a brilliant atmosphere with his one liners and has a great way of gelling everyone together. Been a long time I laughed so much, In between karaoke there is a break where an act comes on, the Robbie Williams is a must see with his sharp humour has the place really coming together & does sarcasm brilliantly đ Wish we found this place sooner as it was just down the road from our hotel. Thanks for 2 great night Sonny & staff and will definitely be back.

Michael Leavy Junior makes this venue the place to be, bringing you his amazing voice of Soul, Motown, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Northern Soul & more. On Wednesday it was a little quiet, but within minutes of hearing him sing, the place filled up with people and literally became a full on party with a fantastic atmosphere. Las Vistas is a beach very close to Los Cristianos Beach, only about 150 meters separate them and you can walk from one to the other along the promenade.
Las Vistas Dive Site, protected from currents and with a sandy bottom, is the ideal place for baptisms, refreshers and night dives. Max depth is 12m.
Convenient access, the dive is at the foot of the breakwater located on the left of the Las Vistas beach. A very easy dive with varied fauna which continues to surprise both for it’s colour and variety of fish.
Beginners will usually feel more comfortable using dive sites that can be accessed from the beach. If you are on holiday with friends and family with non-divers, beach dives works best.

I don’t totally agree with one or two things and here’s why.
As an ex-water phobic, I learned to swim at age 52. I was so bad I would often panic in the shower. I did conquer my fear and go on to qualify as an instructor and lifeguard, then take my PADI diving qualifications.
So my first point is that trying to dive when you still have that fear leaves you open to making matters far worse. For the record, after many failed attempts, I learned to swim with Total Immersion.
If you really want to go ahead, an understanding fully qualified diving instructor on a one to one basis is the way to go.
Medical issues like breathing you will be told ‘no way’, especially if you can’t swim. That said, I proved to my asthma consultant that I was determined, and promised to dive one to one with a qualified instructor, and he signed the certificate.
Another sticking point is well muscled men, especially body builders, and for that matter female body builders as well.
It’s imperative that you learn to overcome this by buoyancy techniques such as Total Immersion teaches. Because water is 1000 times denser than air, water resistance (drag) is the largest factor limiting how far or fast we swim. Fish and aquatic mammals are naturally streamlined. For human swimmers itâs a learned skill.
If you think you can’t learn to swim then let me assure you that you can. I have taught many many non-swimmers and water phobics with not one single failure.
To gain a PADI qualification, there is a minimum distance you are required to swim. That aside, you will get a lot more out of your diving sessions if you feel fully comfortable in the water.
PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD)
We offer try diving programs for non-certified divers. You will be under our guidance and follow the highest of safety standards.
The difference between these experience programs and a PADI Diving Course is that, after completion, you do not receive a diving license, but you can repeat the programs as many times you want, and will always be accompanied by a PADI Professional.

Abades, locally called Los Abriguitos, in the town of PorĂs de Abona, in Arico.
Abades is arguably the best dive site for all diving levels with a max depth of 16 meter. This dive site is very versatile, being suitable for beginners, snorkellers and advanced divers alike. The site is abundant with aquatic life such as breams, wrasse, razorfish, cuttlefish, starfish, and cleaner shrimp. If you are looking for peace this beach is the ideal place to spend a quiet day.

Tabaiba is a dive site with a huge rock formation along the coast. The site is popular for diving and snorkelling, and it also has an underwater cave.
More advanced divers will enjoy this wreck dive as the wreck sits between 20m down to 32m. An artificial reef, it’s an incredible example of how the aquatic eco-system can be protected by human intervention. Since it sank, off El Penon, the diversity at this wreck has increased immensely.

Most of the dive sites in Tenerife are a mixture of unusual lava forms forming rock labyrinths and a wealth of Atlantic flora and fauna. Among these places stand out, among others, the Underwater Nature Reserve of Montana Amarilla, Las Eras and Abades and El Balito.
In Arico, one of our favourite dive sites, Las Eras. Las Eras is a small, quiet village on the south coast of Tenerife.
This dive site give us plenty of entertainment with swim-throughs, overhangs and the light entering from the cracks in the rock makes it even more beautiful .

Amazing catamaran trip today! Crew were lovely, sea was a wee bit choppy for some but the choppier the better for me! Loved every minute of it! Got to see some pilot whales that the crew said were native to only the area between Tenerife, La Gomera and Hawaii! Very cool!!! Highly recommend booking this trip!!!

Not everyone has the time to book a course without first getting a taste of scuba diving. We offer try diving programs for non-certified divers. You will be under our guidance and follow the highest of safety standards.

Food wait was good with the knowledge that they were very busy. The deep fried scampi was not overcooked at all, and was v almost juicy in my mouth but not in any way sludgy. “Some years ago this restaurant was the Aries Irish Bar that Iâd used many times and was disappointed when it was a victim of the pandemic. However on our visit last year we were pleased with its replacement, albeit very different, and had a great meal. Our return this year to Tenerife allowed us to revisit Christieâs and Iâm so glad we did. Itâs an outstanding restaurant and worthwhile finding it as itâs a little off the âbeaten trackâ. Pride in its cooking skills is obvious with the open plan kitchen as is the menu that is not oversized and has a selection of ingredients that can be maintained as always fresh. We shared the (very) garlic prawns as a starter; great!! My main was a simple chicken pasta dish with tomatoes, peppers and onions, it was a treat. The lady had Hake in leek sauce, again well cooked with a subtle sauce. The fish is covered with the sauce but can be served on the side. My only disappointment is the lack of vegetables available with the fish, but thatâs not a massive issue. The house white is good as is the Dorada arriving in an iced glass. We loved the night and I recommend it strongly.”

Freebird Sailing was founded in 1994, specialising in cruises aboard a 30-seater catamaran. Now the largest catamaran service in the Canary Islands, offering trips on 3 catamarans.
But are they the best choice for your catamaran trip?
First you should thoroughly check prices, food options and the number of people onboard. Freebird has a good reputation with 4 stars out of 5. There are others with 5 out of 5 so look at the small niggles on Freebirds reviews.
The most common irritation seems to be value for money especially with food.
- We were told that the trip catered for vegetarians which was a complete lie. The only dish served was meatballs and rice, with the veggie option being just rice. Not paella rice. Not egg fried rice. Just boiled rice, a bread roll and a banana.
- You can rent a sunbed for 10 euros which we did very comfortable. Please bring your own food as they only offer a small bread roll each with cheese and ham. Free soft drinks, beer and water during trip though.
- Far to many people on board not enough sun lounger and the ones on board you had to pay extra for but only if you were there early enough to bag one , food absolutely terrible considering the price paid per ticket

Most of the dive sites in Tenerife are a mixture of unusual lava forms forming rock labyrinths and a wealth of Atlantic flora and fauna. Among the places that stand out, the Underwater Nature Reserve of Montana Amarilla, Las Eras, Abades, El Balito and of course, El Peñon, Tabaiba.

My name is Carla Jane Bannister, 21 years of age, resident of Spain for the last 14 years.
This account is to raise funds for my little brother, Aaron Tyler Bannister. He’s only 11 years old and suffers from a terminal disease, without cure, called muscular dystrophy. In particular, Duchennes (DMD).
He was diagnosed in October 2010, after begging assistance for 3 years, since we noticed that something was not right when he began to crawl and walk.
He couldn’t run as fast as other children, jump as high, climb stairs as easily.
When we first complained, when he was about 2 years of age, doctors investigated and determined that he had flat feet. Something that, over the years, would prove to be an incorrect diagnosis.
This disease is caused by the lack of dystrophin in the muscles, which causes the progressive deterioration of these, starting with the legs.
This genetic disease only affects 1 in every 3,400 children, being males the ones to suffer the symptons. Girls/women, if they carry the disease, would have a 50% chance on passing it to their newborn, if male.
Men who suffer from this disease, begin an undetermined fight, since there is no cure, from the first symptoms, these being weakness in the legs and visible “growth” in the calf muscles (this “growth” being the muscle starting to deteriorate).

“Wow , so not miss this place .. cocktails are amazing , we had prawn cocktail to start ⊠fillet steak for 19 euros, honestly I would have paid 40 euros .. it was soooo good , you will not be disappointed.”
Discovered this when we typed in nearest steak place to our hotel ole tropical. Minutes up the road and nearly missed it but found it at the end of the row of little shops/food places. Such a relaxing chilled atmosphere. Seems like a little family run business. Server did tell us a 30 minute wait for food but that didnât bother us as that didnât seem long anyway. Ordered mussels and calamari for starters which was delicious. Both ordered fillet for main course and it was cooked to perfection. Probably best weâve eaten and we are fussy eaters. Wait didnât seem long as well. Waitress was always attentive with drinks. Would highly recommend. We would bring the kids here too. Was very reasonably priced too. Will always come each time we are here now”
