Tenerife Resort Masca

The tiny village of Masca is located in the southwest of Tenerife, forming part of what is known as the Teno Rural Park. It was originally a Guanche settlement before the Spanish conquest. The village is now home to around 90 inhabitants. It can’t really be classed as a resort and you will have to do some serious searching to find places to stay.

That said, there are a great many trips and tours which visit Masca. It’s also an amazing place if you like walking or hiking (Andy Tenerife Walker can advise). The descent to the Barranco de Masca is one of the most beautiful and popular hiking routes in Tenerife.

Trips and Tours for Masca

When checking out excursions, if you are based in Masca, be aware that many excursion companies pick up from your hotel in the popular resorts. Many of the cheaper trips, including the free trips, require you to make your own way there or to the nearest pick up point. This will  certainly be true if you are staying in Masca.
