The worst mistake of all, of course, is to not have any life insurance. If this is you, it’s something that you need to rectify as soon as possible. The worst possible scenario is being alone in Tenerife dealing with the death of a loved one with financial problems and no life insurance.

When to take out life insurance? There is no exact age when you might need life insurance . Typically, you might start thinking about life cover when:

  • You take out a mortgage. Could your partner pay the mortgage if you were to pass away? Life insurance could ease this worry, and options like decreasing life insurance could be attractive if you want your payout to roughly decrease in line with your repayment mortgage.
  • You have children. Given the cost of childcare, after-school clubs and feeding a family, parents are arguably the main contenders for who should get life insurance.
  • You’re in a long-term relationship. It can be tricky to decide when to take out life insurance, but one trigger for getting life insurance could be once you have a partner who depends on you financially, which may be less likely in the early days of a relationship.
  • Before you retire. You really should take a life insurance policy long before this. The older you get, the more expensive it is and frequently life cover is refused due to medical issues as we age.
  • Moving abroad. Essential. Make sure your loved ones don’t have a financial crisis should you pass before them.

Internet Providers in Tenerife

Since moving to Tenerife, I have tried 5 different internet providers.  Quite honestly, a good mobile service gives you some pretty neat alternative choices for your internet providers.

This is my personal opinion of them but good or bad, the contact details are listed below.

Find the right internet provider

Thor Telecom I will not recommend because they owe me over €200 for a parking fine from when they rented my car.  Dating back to 23rd March before they returned the car without notice, not even having the courtesy of telling me, let alone paying it, I have contacted them several times but despite promises, it remains unpaid.

Throstur Ingvar Steinthorsson no longer replies to my messages.  I leave it to you as to whether you want to trust a company that behaves like this.

Motorbikes can look impressive on the open road and for thousands in Tenerife they’re the chosen mode of getting about the island. Unfortunately for their riders, bikes are considerably more dangerous than passenger vehicles. When motorcycles crash, riders get hurt.

Clearly, everyone thinks or hopes it will never happen to them. However it’s vital to consider the possibility  and take a quality bike insurance and don’t forget life cover. Surprising, insurance companies rarely load life cover if you ride a bike.

Just How Dangerous are Motorbikes?

With improvements in motorbike safety gear improving every year, bikers are now better protected than ever before. With improved qualifications, training, and various awareness campaigns the number of fatalities in the UK fell from 585 in 2004 to 285 in 2020. That’s a pretty impressive drop.

According to the statistics, the number of non-fatal but serious and slight motorcycle traffic collisions has also dropped significantly in the last 20 years.

So Why Are Motorbikes Thought To Be So Dangerous?

Riding a motorcycle or scooter is considered more dangerous than driving a car simply because you are more exposed, are not protected by the shell of a car or an airbag, plus you are not strapped in with a seat-belt and, supposedly only two wheels compared to four, makes them less stable.
