Eden Equine Horse Rescue And Rehabilitation Tenerife
Whilst we are happy and encourage you to visit, meet the horses and see our project, please remember that we WORK. We don’t currently have volunteers, so everything that needs doing is done by me. On top of the everyday chores involved in caring for the animals, we have regular jobs to help finance this project.
I (Emm) work from home, so I am around almost all of the time (with the exception of essential errands).
Visits are by appointment ONLY, so please send me a quick message by email or WhatsApp to make sure that someone is free to show you around.

Tenerife Horse Rescue Sustainable Animal Sanctuary
Open every day to give tours around the finca, meet the animals, volunteers and see the work in action. However please remember that our sanctuary is 100% run on volunteers so you must be flexible.
Our opening hours are 9:00 – 2:30 every day. Via appointment.
Unfortunately we need money, we canât pretend otherwise. We need money and we need a lot of money. On average we need more than 3500⏠a month just to survive, this is without growing the sanctuary. This is mainly for horse feed which is on average 110⏠a month per horse and we currently have over 20. You can do the maths. This is food alone and does not include vet bills and other animals.Â

KittyCatz are a small dedicated group of volunteers that help sick and disabled cats and kittens with medical treatment, and new born kittens too young to wean on the Island of Tenerife. Loving permanent homes are found following treatment or permanent foster care for those not suitable for re homing. Every cent raised goes directly to the cats and kittens and their vet care at Vet Express who help us with our work.

K9 Tenerife is a Spanish Registered Charity (NÂș 3147) run by volunteers in the South of Tenerife. The purpose of the organisation is to protect and rehome, to the best of our ability, animals from cruelty, starvation and neglect, and to neuter and spay where possible to avoid over population.
The refuge receives no official government funding and we rely solely on you, the public, for donations and sponsorships.
Rescue dogs have so much to give in return for a loving and safe home. They make great family pets and faithful companions. However, we know many people would love to adopt a dog but, for many different reasons, it isnât practical to have a pet. If thatâs the case for you, how about sponsoring one of dogs while they wait for their own special forever home?
For âŹ8 euros or ÂŁ8 each month, just chose which of our dogs you would like to sponsor. He or she will send you your own âMy Sponsor Personâ card and, if you live locally and can visit us, theyâd be delighted to go walking with you, show you their favourite places and introduce you to their chums. How to choose the right boarding kennel for your dog? Many owners are afraid to leave their dog in a kennel. Of course a stay in a kennel is a change for the dog and initially you may worry that your dog won’t feel at home. But if you choose the right kennel for your dog, after the first days of conditioning they will have fun and have the idea that they are “on vacation”.
How long does the dog to settle in the kennel ? It is very difficult to generalize. Some dogs are comfortable from day one and others take longer. Perhaps the first day they don’t much want to eat or play. However, if the kennel is good they very rapidly accustomed to the daily routine, the lunch, the play, cleaning, etc.
It is a good idea to visit the kennel where you think you may board your dog at least once before taking the final decision. This will let you know the people who work with the dogs, facilities that they have at the kennel, its operation and the level of hygiene, etc.
If you remain convinced that you made a good choice, you will feel more relaxed when you leave your dog. Just remember, Tenerife is not a big island, even North Tenerife to South Tenerife is quite a manageable distance to find the right kennel.
