PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD)

Not everyone has the time to book a course without first getting a taste of scuba diving. We offer try diving programs for non-certified divers. You will be under our guidance and follow the highest of safety standards.

The difference between these experience programs and a PADI Diving Course is that, after completion, you do not receive a diving license, but you can repeat the programs as many times you want, and will always be accompanied by a PADI Professional. Henry Cotton Technique – The Golf Swing

Cotton is golf’s ultimate ‘hands’ man, an unrepentant iconoclast who relentlessly insists: (a) that the ever-growing accent on body action is at best wrongheaded and at worst physically injurious and (b) that there is no way mechanically to program and fundamentalize the golf swing, at least insofar as the average mortal is concerned.

In proclaiming that the key to sound and long-lasting golf lies in the condition and actions of the hands, Cotton does not deny that other methods work – simply that the hands method, once mastered is the easiest, most effective, and longest lasting.

The only really adamant stance he takes is against the concept that the golf swing can be mechanically standardized – a position borne of his own failure to do just that after one of the greatest single efforts in history to accomplish such a goal.

Golf is an individual game and will ever be so, whilst human beings vary in physique. The thoroughness with which American golfers have analysed golf in an attempt to find ‘the secret’ has further convinced me there is no secret.

‘To watch a first-class field drive off must surely convince everyone that a golf ball can be hit in many ways.’
Later he also conceded that his original highly mechanistic approach to developing a putting stroke was one of the chief reasons he was so poor a performer on the greens, compared with his prowess at at reaching them.

We will meet at the port of San Miguel, where the jet skis will be waiting for you. It is necessary to come 20 minutes before the booked time to get prepared.

There will be a brief explanation on how to drive correctly. No previous experience and no driving licence is necessary!

It’s time to set off! Accompanied by the monitor on his guiding boat, we’ll pass through few different spots: the Yellow Mountain, the bay of Costa del Silencio, Las Galletas, the light house of Punta Rasca, the red Mountain, El Medano, Pelada Mountain (the exact itinerary depends on the weather conditions)

Here’s what golfers have to say:

  1. If I had a standard package set of clubs I would 100% rent. It’s far easier, has less risk, and exposes me to new clubs that I can demo and that’s fun.
  2. Bringing your own clubs means travelling to and from airports with your suitcase AND golf clubs. That’s a lot of luggage
  3. My rule of thumb is 2 rounds or less rent, 3 rounds or more bring my own sticks.
  4. No risk of your own clubs getting lost or damaged in transit.
  5. If you rent you can: not worry, not carry through airport (etc), try something new, have an excuse for bad shots.
  6. Renting golf clubs gives you the chance to play top of the range sets from the best golf manufacturers in the business.
  7. I would rent. As a beginner. It’s good to experience new clubs and manufacturers. Until you start building your own set.
  8. If you have decided that renting your golf clubs is the right option for you, then be sure to find a quality rental service.
  9. Why would you go on a golf trip and not bring your golf clubs? It’s exceedingly rare that they actually get damaged on the flight
  10. Golf shops almost always carry rental clubs for players who don’t have them. Most rental clubs are relatively new and have decent technology.

Grooves Disappear From Golf Drivers

WHY DID THE GROOVES DISAPPEAR FROM GOLF DRIVERS IN THE LATE 1990’s ?????

What a thought!? No grooves on the face of a golf driver? !?!?!

That was the golf industries response when the V Project suggested this to them. The IMG backed golf product accessing project V Project stated clearly that grooves were on little use and a smooth face would give golfers an instant straighter and longer driver. Which eventually the golf industry took on board.

It wasn’t new technology though! Oh no, the rules of golf had it covered in the original rules of the game, the face shall be smooth…..

I learnt the smooth face from caddying for the late great Christy O’connor, who would have his driver revert back to the old rules smooth face by applying araldite into the grooves and sanding the face smooth with emery paper. It kept the ball straighter and lower trajectory in windy weather.

So naturally, heading up the six year V Project I brought that to the table early on.

Sadly the V Project couldn’t protect the change by patent, but it was a nice gift to change golfers games all around the world.

A little more next time of the V Project and how it changed the game of golf.

My knowledge of the mountains and forests, local history, and the flora and fauna here is extensive. Before moving to Tenerife, I was a ranger in the Peak District National Park, but my love of hiking and exploring began when I was a child. So I have spent nearly all of my life walking and climbing not only in the UK but all over Europe including Mont Blanc to name but one.

We cater for all tastes and fitness levels, however, bespoke walks can very often be arranged upon enquiry.
